Charlie’s 3/4 House, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safe, affordable, and supportive transitional housing for alcoholic men in the early stages of sobriety.
Founded in 1979, Charlie’s 3/4 House began with a simple act of compassion—one man opening his doors to a newly recovering alcoholic in need of a place to stay. What started as a single room of refuge has since grown into a long-standing recovery community that serves approximately 200 residents each year, with occupancy consistently above 96%.
Our program isn’t just about having a place to sleep — it’s about restoring dignity and direction. Residents must meet a set of standards that reinforce their commitment to sobriety and self-improvement. To be eligible, applicants must have:

- Successfully completed a recognized detoxification program
- Demonstrated a sincere commitment to continued sobriety
- Expressed a willingness to find and maintain gainful employment
- Agreed to attend daily Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings
