Real Stories of Hope & Recovery

Every man who walks through our doors brings with him a story — one of struggle, survival, and the courage to start again. At Charlie’s 3/4 House, we’re honored to be a part of that journey.

These excerpts come directly from letters written by former residents who rebuilt their lives through stability, structure, and community. Each story is shared with permission, and identifying details are removed to protect privacy.

“When I first moved in, I was lost. I didn’t trust anyone, including myself. The routine, the expectations, and the support from the staff helped me get my feet under me. I learned how to show up again — for work, for meetings, and for myself. I’m living on my own now, and I still use the tools Charlie’s taught me every day.”

“Before Charlie’s, I didn’t have stability. I didn’t have hope. This house gave me both. The structure kept me accountable, and the community helped me realize I wasn’t alone. I’m proud to say I’m sober, working full-time, and reconnecting with my family.”

“I came in broken. I left believing in myself. The staff treated me with respect, even on days when I didn’t deserve it. Living here taught me responsibility and gave me the space to grow. Because of this program, I’m back on track and grateful for the second chance I received.”

“I don’t say that lightly. Charlie’s gave me structure, support, and people who actually cared if I succeeded. I found stability, built healthy habits, and learned how to live again. I carry those lessons with me wherever I go.”
